9th ASEAN Labour Inspection Conference
Strengthening labour inspection capability in the post COVID-19 era
During 27 – 28 May 2021

The current COVID-19 pandemic necessitates a discussion to expand the activities and functions of the labour inspectorates to include the prevention and control of pandemic such as COVID-19 at the workplace, while ensuring effective discharge of primary inspectorate duties. This would require a good understanding of the new priorities in the post-COVID era and a review of the competencies of labour inspectors to meet these new challenges. The 9th ALIC will discuss strategies and measures to strengthen labour inspections in the post COVID-19. There are 5 sessions following:

Session 1: focusing on overview of international strategies and update, sharing by International Labour Organization (ILO), World Health Organization (WHO) and Centre for Infectious Diseases.

Session 2: discuss on strategies and measure for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and management measure for workplace by ASEAN-OSHNET Indonesia, Occupational Safety and Health Inspectorate, Singapore

Session 3: discuss on managing the new work dynamic in the post COVID-19 era sharing by Workplace and Health Council, Singapore

Session 4: Tripartite conversations on labour challenges and opportunities in the post COVID-19 era, this session is divided into 2 groups for discussing and share back from each track by KOSHA

Session 5: discussing on draft conclusion and recommendation
